Censorship

April 26th, 2007 by atchu in Uncategorized · No Comments

What is Censorship:
Censorship is when somthing is cecored or when it isn’t allowed to be showed. For example there are many songs that are censored because it has to many bad words or is a threat to importanat people or is way to racest. A nother example could be if a parent didn’t like what a child was reading in school they could go to the princeale and say that this book should be censored or taken off all the shelves.

Give Two Spesific Examples of Censorship:

-Movie The Road Guanantanmo

-Music video X-Mas Speacial

Do You Think That There are Good Reasons to Censor Things

I think that there are very good reasons to censor things. One good reason to censor things is because they affend some people. Another good reason is so that little kids thst may be grossed out by or parents woudn’t want ther kids to see, hear, or read.

I think that you were right censoring that video because it may affend the people that live in the U.S. or George Bush

ITL Reflection

April 23rd, 2007 by atchu in Uncategorized · No Comments

I learned that global warming is major concern to the whole planet. Global warming needs to be toped as soon as possible. I learned that global warming is being caused by people and all their polluting of harmful gasses going up into the atmosphere. I leaned that global warming is causing natural disasters to be getting stronger, for example hurricanes like Hurricane Katrina that New Orleans.

I have learned that working with people internationally is a lot harder than working with people locally. Some of the skills that we as a class have to use to work with people internationally are being able to keep in contact with people far away. There are a lot of different tools that need to be used to make this project work. I think that the most important tool that we used was the wiki. The wiki is what brought together in the first place. The wiki is where we did all of our planning and where we kept in touch. This wiki was located at international.pbwiki.com. There are many other tools that we used like Skype, Pinacle, and a lot of other things.

Working closer together would have made this project much easier but not as much fun. If we had better software this project would have been easier. I think that this project would have been more interesting if there were more groups involved around the world.

I leaned that telling a story with all these things is much more complicated, but tells the story a lot better. I leaned that the software is a lot more difficult to deal with rather than a pencil. When you publish it on line I learned that it isn’t really yours anymore. You can’t tell people what it is supposed to mean. The readers think of it as whatever. I also learned that when you publish it online you have to show all the credits for the videos, pictures, and music or else they can sue you, so you have be sure that you show all the credits.

The ITL project was a great idea and I think every class should something like it.

Mixtures

April 12th, 2007 by atchu in Uncategorized · No Comments

Homogeneous Mixtures:Is a mixture that has more than one substance in it, These substances are combined together enough so that they look and feel like one thing. This can also be called a solution. Some examples are air, jello, icing, paint, and milk.

Hetrogeneous Mixtures:Is also a mixture with more than one substance, but with this one you can both see and feel the two different substances. This can also be called a mechanical mixture. Some examples of hetrogeneous mixtures are granola bar, trail mix, and bird seeds.

Unsaturated Solution: An unsaturated solution is both dilute & concentrated solution. A dilute solution is for example there is not enough sugar crystals inwater to make juice. Or when the juice is too watery. A concentrated solution is when there is just enough sugar crystals in the juice. So this is a solution with unfilled spaces btween the particles in juice.

Saturated Solution:A saturated solution is made when all spaces in a solution are filled. In a saturated solution if you try to strengthen a drink all the flavour crystals will just fall to the bottom of the glass without dissolving.

Blogging Questions From the Blogicians: Answers

April 5th, 2007 by atchu in Uncategorized · No Comments

What are some tips on how to proofread on a blog?
Some tips on how to proof read a blog are, 1 you can paste your post on word and it will correct any spelling errors, or grammer mistakes. You can also ask a friend to read it over and see if they can find anything wrong. You can also re-read it your self and see if you can add anything more to it to make different or more interesting. If you have any links in your blog you double check them to see if they can actually work.

What is your favourite or the most interesting thing you like about blogging? The most interesting I like about blogs is that you write about pretty much anything, and that you write at any time when you are at home. Also I think it is interesting that you can see what your friends or other people are writing. My favourite thing about blogging is that you can find your own picture on Google image, or Yahoo images and place it on your blog as your main picture at the top.

How have other people’s comments helped you in blogging?                                                         Other peoples comments helped me in blogging by telling me how how to improve my blog and what to do to make it better.

Teen Life Project (2)

February 5th, 2007 by atchu in Uncategorized · 1 Comment

My project is cheating in professional league. I know that taking points off a professional game and putting more points on a professional game is cheating. Professional atheletes can cheat by using steroides. Foot ball players used to use steriodes all the time but, eventually the people who were incharge of the league started taking tests for steriodes. If the atheletes tested positive they could be banned from the sport forever. People would also pay referees to make bad calls on the awy teams. These calls could be more penelties in hockey, yellow cards & red cards in soccer, ect.

Some of my project ideas are making videos and interviews.

Teen Life Concerns

January 18th, 2007 by atchu in Uncategorized · No Comments

Hi, my name is Matthew. I have 2 brothers, 1 sister, and 1 dog. I live in a small town called Snow Lake. Our population is around 800- 1000. There isn’t very much to do around here. I really like sports but there are no teams here. The only stuff that you can do around here is go to the Youth Centre and go to the odd movie night. The Youth Centre is a place where teenagers around town go to every Friday to just listen to music, talk, and just hang out. Our school is fairly big but we only have 170 people in it. There are a lot of empty classrooms in the school because a lot of the kids have moved away. So………… there are split classes in the school for example there are 2-3 split, 4-5, 6-7, and, 7-8. There are so many concerns that we have today, here are some of them.

1 major concern that Canadians have to go through is Global Warming. Global Warming is the earth heating up. Global Warming is being caused by cars, methane, smoke stacks, industrial places, mines, etc. Global Warming is taking away the homes of lots of wild life in our country. There are many ways to prevent this from going further. One big way is recycling.

Recycling is anther major concern. There aren’t enough people doing it. If people recycled it would stop a lot of other things like help stop global warming. When people don’t recycle we have to go to the natural resource and get it. When we do recycle the people don’t have to go to natural resource, they just have to use what we recycled.

Youth in Canada have a lot concerns and there are a lot of ways that we can help prevent all of these things from getting way worse.

Posts Worth Sharing

December 6th, 2006 by atchu in School · No Comments

There is a small village in Botswana in Africa that is called Nata Village. Two nurses in the village keep a blog. On this blog they left a post about a family in Zoroga. Their rondavel (house) burnt down, now they have nothing except the clothes on their back. The fire was a cooking fire. The fire caught some stored grass for roofing and destroyed the whole house along with all its contents. They ask for people to send furniture for thier home.

Another post worth sharing is, organ transplants. in the states there are more than           53 000 people waiting for an organ transplant. There are approximately 20,000 organ transplants performed each year in the United States. It costs somewhere around $120 000 for an organ transplant. You can find this at second opinion.
